What will you study?
In Year 12 you will study four general topic areas: Youth culture and concerns, The world around us, Environmental issues and the Russian speaking world.
In Year 13 you will study three additional A Level general topic areas for the first time, which are customs, traditions, beliefs and religions,literature and the arts.You will develop an understanding of Russian in a variety of contexts and genres,and learn to communicate confidently,clearly and effectively in Russian.You will also develop an awareness and understanding of the contemporary society,cultural background and heritage of the countries or communities where Russian is spoken.

Having the possibility to integrate into an expanding market: Russia is among the ten strongest economies in the world and the market continues to grow.'

As Russian is a facilitating subject that involves many diï¬erent skills, it is welcomed by all Russell Group Universities. Careers opportunities vary as having a language qualification can enable you to be an interpreter, teacher or translator. Students who study this subject can also explore roles within policing,communications,journalism and international aid.
