The course is made up of 6 units, 3 are mandatory and 3 are optional units. 

All units are practical and have written supporting elements. 

 

What will you study?

This course offers you the opportunity to specialise in one, 2 or all 3 different disciplines in the Performing Arts - Acting, Dancing and Musical Theatre (including Singing). You will benefit from a course that has 50% Mandatory units and 50% optional with a range of different units to choose from to help support your specialism. This course is open to actors, dancers and singers alike. This course a BTEC qualification and is the equivalent of 1 A level.  If you are looking for a career in the Performing Arts, it is important you are able to offer as many skills as possible in a competitive market.

‘Performing Arts offers students the opportunity to showcase the skills they have and develop new skills that University providers would want to see when applying for both Theatre and/or Performing Arts courses. A qualification in Performing arts also shows employers you are an excellent communicator and presenter.’

Future Pathways

Performing Arts can support applications in Theatre based courses and for the wide range of Performing Arts degrees that are now widely available. It can also support applications in Production and Media based courses.
