What will you study?

Studying Economics is a rewarding intellectual experience, offering highly marketable skills in a way that is both stimulating and academically rigorous. Students are encouraged to take a lively interest in current affairs as discussed in the newspapers or on radio or television. By the end of the course, students will be in a position to understand and discuss current economic issues, such as the impact of BREXIT, the importance of controlling inflation, the effect of commodity price rises on businesses, consumers and the economy.

Economics can be studied with Mathematics and Science or alongside Humanities subjects such as History and Geography, it is a versatile subject that can studied as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree depending upon the University.

 

Future Pathways

Economics is highly desired by universities as an entry requirement for many degrees. Economists find themselves working in a range of related and unrelated sectors: Business, Finance, Accountancy, the Civil Service, Management Consultancy, Retailing and Charities.
